Daily Feline Prompt: Don’t forget the felines

Imagine yourself at the end of your life. What sort of legacy will you leave? Describe the lasting effect you want to have on the world, after you’re gone.

Lady, September 2001-February 2002

“Who is that feline Tabby?”

“That is Lady, she only lived here a year before getting her 10th life and going to the Eternal Corn Chambers. I never actually knew her, but Mrs. Human sometimes mentions her.”

“So she has never been forgotten.”

“Of course not Fluffy, we felines are never forgotten. We leave our paw marks on the world. It is our purpose in life and in death to continue, although the humans don’t really see us (unless we want them to like Nera)”.

“But when we are no longer here, living our 10th life, who will write out daily prompts.”

“Probably Mrs. Human will do it for us, we will have to change the method of writing as Mrs. Human cannot write on a pawpad. We will have to send our wonderful blog ideas by telepathy while she is sleeping, no problem.”

“Of course Tabby. Do you think Nera will help us.”

“Nera will probably take over and tell us what to tell Mrs. Human. By the time we enter our 10th lives in the Kingdom of Bastet, Nera will probably be in charge of the telepathy department. I heard she is working on the development of a new system known as “Catnip”.”

“That’s an original name. I thought Catnip was something to send us into another world.”

“Exactly, that’s why it’s called Catnip. I heard a rumour that there might even be an 11th life involved, Nera was never satisfied with 9 lives and she found the 10th life is becoming a little boring. As the great philosophiser Ludwig Katzenstein said “The real question of life after death isn’t whether or not it exists, but how many lives do we get.””

“Tabby, where do you find all those quotes from those wise felines.”

“Don’t ask stupid questions Fluffy, one day you will be as wise as I am.”

    • But a warning, never plant it in the garen. Keep it in a pot out of reach from cat paws. If you have it in the garden, it becomes a meeting place for all the local felines, and they roll in it squashing it out of existence.
