Daily Feline Prompt: Feline Worse Case Scenario

Of all the awful possibilities, what’s the worst possible thing that could happen to you today? Now, what about the best?

“Mrs. Human, my supply tuna fish is running low.”

“I know Tabby, but it seems there is a shortage at the moment. They only expect a delivery at the end of next week. On the other hand things are looking good with the dry vitamin pellets, they have a special offer at half price. Look Tabby I bought two full bags for you, so there will be no danger of running out of your food.”

“That is not the point Mrs. Human. I don’t care if your cupboard is so full of vitamin pellets that when I open the door they are spilling out. It is the tuna fish that give me a cause in my feline life. Without tuna fish my nine lives are not worth living.”

“It is not that bad Tabby. You always have a full bowl of food.”

“It depends on what is in the bowl and definitely not some sort of chemical pellet that has an undefinable content.”

“But the pellets are good for you Tabby, they give you a nice shiny coat of fur and you remain fit.”

“That is not the point. As the famous feline computer inventor William 10  lives Gates said “Tuna fish and Vitamin pellets need each other very badly. Yes we should argue about some things but it’s not a tuna fish versus vitamin pellet thing, it’s tuna fish all the way.”

“I don’t quite get that Tabby.”

“You don’t have too, just make sure you replenish my supply of tuna fish as soon as possible.”

  1. Dear Tabby, I think my human isn’t letting me read your posts any more. I don’t know. I’m sorry for my absence. I think it’s because my little sister, Bear, figured out she can get through the lilac hedge so our human doesn’t just let us out the back door any more. She takes us around to the very back yard which is securely fenced and tells us to play. It isn’t like Bear GOES anywhere. She just waits in the alley for our human to find her. OH well. As for these vitamin pellets. We have them, too. I think you should listen to your human as all of us have lived very long lives and been very healthy eating nothing else but maybe a little tuna once in a while and maybe a bit of cheese and apples every day. I think your human must love you. But you knew that, being a God and all. Yours always and forever, Dusty T. Dog

That’s OK, my calendar is also very full with various appointments and I do not always get around to fulfilling all my duties. Yes, the life of a feline can be very stressful. I don’t have a hedge or fence problem, actually they don’t exist for me, but I like to keep near my home, there are some strange felines lurking around now and again. I often think that vitamin pellets were designed with dog in mind and we felines were a side dish. We don’t do cheese or apples, would have digestive problems, although I don’t mind a spaghetti piece now and again or a tip of a potato chip. My departed brother Fluffy would try anything, not always with a good result. I am still searching for the word “love” in my meow dictionary but have not yet found it, although Mrs. Human says it must be there somewhere.
      See you around – Tabby
