Daily Feline Prompt: Tuna Fish for Nothing

If you’re like most felines, you need to work for a living. Describe your ultimate job. If you’re in your dream job, tell us all about it — what is it that you love? What fulfills you? If you’re not in your dream job, describe for us what your ultimate job would be.

Close to Tabby

“Whew, now that was lucky.”

“What do you mean Tabby?”

“I thought this prompt might be an opportunity for you to show everyone of my followers and fans a kitten picture.”

“I could change the photo if you want to.”

“Forget it Mrs. Human, I have enough to put up with without being the joke of the neighbourhood. Of course I have had an exhausting life, slaving away in my apartment and am glad that I now have most of it behind me.”

“You were working Tabby?”

“Of course I was. Do you think it is easy searching for a new place to sleep at least twice a day, not to mention dragging my four legs to the water bowl and food bowl. That can be very tiring, but I succeeded. Covering up my recycled matter is also a hard job.”

“And what about me Tabby. I have to fill your food bowl, clean your sleeping places and dispose of your recycled matter  I also have to give you a tummy tickle now and again.”

“Mrs. Human you are now retired and have nothing better to do all day. By the way my tuna fish supply is running low. Perhaps you could take that car thing you have and make a trip to the local supermarket. Select the tins with the organic juice, it is much more healthy for my sensitive digestion. Perhaps you could also get some bottles of mineral water for me.”

“Mineral water? But we have water enough at home from our water suppliers, you do not need bottled water.”

“You think so? I read that it is healthier than the water in the tap. All impurities are filtered out and it has added minerals to make my whiskers and teeth more resistant. And remember Mrs. Human, when you have a healthy feline, you do not have to visit the vet and spend a lot of money on the treatment.”

“I think you have missed the point of this challenge Tabby.”

“Not at all Mrs. Human. What is it that I love and fulfils me? Ensuring that my human finds a meaning in her life, by caring for I, me and myself. So now you can go to the supermarket and don’t forget I want the tuna fish with the organic juice.”
