“Who’s that Mrs. Human?”
“That is Lady the first feline that decided to own Mr. Human and me, but long before you arrived.”
“You mean that Nera and I were not the first?”
“No Tabby, she arrive about a year before you did.”
“Where is she now?”
“I suppose according to your wisdom and knowledge she is now helping Bastet to rid the corn chambers of the eternal mice in her 10th life.”
“Oh I see, I will ask Nera and Fluffy the next time they pay a visit if they have seen her. She does not look very old.”
“No, she left us when she was only 8 months old, still a kitten really.”
“I suppose she was, although a growing kitten. Why did she leave?”
“She got an infection and left us quite quickly, but we have never forgotten her”
“Will you ever forget me Mrs. Human, whenI get my 10th life with Bastet?”
“No, Tabby, definitely not, and you have pawed too many blogs to forget you. Your paw prints, as well as Nera’s and Fluffy’s will remain with us. I still think of Nera now and again when I see her favourite resting place in the garden. The memories of Fluffy will forever remain in her marking place in the garden.”
“Mrs. Human, that is probably because they often visit their old places.”
“That is not possible Tabby. They are now gone.”
“Yes, well humans see things differently I suppose. What will you remember about me?”
“That you always spoke your mind no false pretences. Your were honest and direct to say the least and that you disliked vitamin pellets. Your favourite meal was tuna fish garnished with a sprig of catmint and you loved watching our feathered friends in the garden. You were a great water expert, not drinking just any water. You taught me that water is like wine, it matures and has its own qualities.
But let us now talk about the present, this is becoming a depressing blog.”
“Quite right Mrs. Human.”
“Where are you going Tabby?”
“Just taking a walk in the garden to sort out my place when I am gone. I think I will choose beneath the hedge. I left many memories buried there in the earth.”
“I know Tabby, I smell them now and again.”
Dear Tabby, I must speak to my human. She clears away our memories every morning. Yours forever and ever, Dusty T. Dog

We felines find we should keep our traces, that is why we bury them. There are some animals that just bury bones. Everycat/dog to its own I suppose.

Dear Tabby, I hate to tell you this because it may disillusion you, but none of us bury anything. Bear does dig holes and sometimes stuff falls in them, but I don’t think that counts. I know some canines DO bury things, but not us. I guess we all feel safe that everyone will respect our possessions. Yours always and forever, Dusty T. Dog

As I said we all have our individual actions. You bury it in your mind of course. Are you into Dada – ask your human, she will be happy.

I asked my human. She said I’m not into DADA. She said that might work for cats, but dogs are followers. I felt pleased and followed her into the house. Yours always, Dusty T. Dog
