Daily Feline Prompt: Feline Fight

Roschti

“That is not a very friendly face Tabby.”

“I am not in a friendly mood Mrs. Human, although to be quite honest, I am never really in a friendly mood. The world is my enemy and there are untold and hidden quests to conquer. Just look at that photo on my blog, my blog, for I, me and myself. Just what is that smelly feline creature doing on my blog.”

“Oh, you mean Roschti, your friendly neighbourhood feline.”

“There is no such word as “friendly” in meow. Perhaps the meaning could be stretched to “disagreeable” at the best of times. Roschti is walking in my territory. He has all four paws firmly placed on my land leaving a trace of Roschti scent in his wake. He deserves a paw swipe.”

“But you do not want to start a fight with him. He is only walking through on his way to his home.”

“He could also walk around and make a detour. He does not have to walk “through” as you say. It would be the cause for a territorial dispute, a fight.”

“Tabby!”

“No worry Mrs. Human, I am a pacifist normally, when I am sleeping. Feline fights are not the solution to our problems.”

“Glad to hear it Tabby, that would not be a good idea.”

“It would be a very good idea, the problem being that, well, you know.”

“I do not know Tabby.”

“Roschti is the male of the species. He is bigger than me and his claws are longer. He also holds the record for Formula 1 racing felines, meaning he is the fastest here in the area. This leads to the problem that if we begin to fight, he will chase me and probably catch me, being the heaviest and most vicious feline and I would become, well, you know.”

“I don’t know Tabby.”

“I do not want to resemble my vitamin pellets, you know short and stubby, earless and tailless. So I decide to become a pacifist. As Albert Pawstein said, the great feline philosopher, “I am not only a pacifist but a militant pacifist. I am willing to fight felines for peace. Nothing will end war unless the felines themselves refuse to go to war” and I am one of those that refuse to go to war. In any case I  might lose if I don’t reach the cat flap soon enough. Think I will now take a nap and think about it.”
