Daily Feline Prompt: Feline Earth

Tabby

“I’m bored Mrs. Human.”

“Tabby you have everything a feline can wish for: enough to eat and to drink and various sleeping places.”

“I know Mrs. Human, but I am still bored. Perhaps there is something to play with in those two suspicious plastic bags. They would be ideal for paw scratching.”

“No tabby, they are two bags of earth for the garden in case I need them. The gardener left them here.

“The garden is full of earth Mrs. Human, I am sure you could spare one of those bags for me. It might make my recycling process smell sweeter.”

“I don’t think so Tabby, your recycling process always smells the same.”

“So why two bags?”

“The smaller bag is special earth for flowers and the other is full of earth enriched with cow dung.”

“Hold on Mrs. Human, cow dung? If you take a walk across the road you can collect it yourself. Cows are not as fussy as we felines, they drop it where they are. We felines make the effort to bury it.”

“Yes, but the cow dung is beneficial to the earth. It improves the quality and enriches it. All sorts of good bacteria develop and the plants grow more healthy. It is not the same cow dung that the cows drop in the meadow. It is processed.”

“So if my recycled matter was processed it would also be beneficial to the garden? The inventor of the pawpad, Bill Cyberwhisker Gates, said “two out of every five felines on Earth today owe their lives to the higher catnip outputs that feline fertilizer has made possible” and he knew what he was talking about.”

“Somehow I do not think that processed feline recycling matter would be the answer to our earth problems.”

“Neither do I, but it was an intersting conversation and I learnt to continue to bury my recycled matter because no-one is interested in using it. Now I am no longer bored, just tired. Wake me up in a hour or two or three, just wait for a helpless murmer from my bed to begin to prepare my meal.”

  1. Dear Tabby, Our human has such respect for our recycling material that she puts on a special paw wrapper every day and collects it. I am not sure what she does with it after she’s collected but I’m sure it’s something very special because everything our human does is important and necessary. Yours forever and ever, Dusty T. Dog

I don’t really know what our human does with mine. I have this special sand and everytime and it makes lumps when it gets wet. She has a special scoop to collect it and then puts it in a plastic bag and ties a knot in it. All very complicated. It them disappears in a big bin she has in her kitchen. The non liquids go into the human recycling bowl in that room and disappear forever. Of course if I am outside, I bury it, but I don’t tell anyone where it is, although I think Mrs. Human knows.
Meow Dusty (special paw wrapper? Will have to think about that, something canine……)
