“I love close-ups Mrs. Human, you can see my McDonalds “M” so well.”
“Tell me Tabby, why do all tabby felines have a McDonalds “M”?”
“That goes back a long way Mrs. Human. Bastet was having problems in her kingdom, the felines that had got their 10th life were constantly revisiting the 9 life world and the eternal corn chambers were becoming overpopulated with mice. She tried to persuade the felines to stay in the eternal corn chambers, but they told her no way. Mice for breakfast, lunch and dinner were becoming boring. The 9th life world now had a new innovation everywhere. Something better than a corn chamber. Who wants to spend their remaining lives in a corn chamber when McDonalds had arrived?
“Who?” said Bastet
“McDonald” answered the felines. He has invented something to please the heart of every feline. Imagine no more chopped meat, hard vitamine pellets, it is all in the hamburger.”
“Hamburger?” Bastet was astonished.
“In many varieties. You can have a simple one, Big Mac and Big Tasty. Needs no preparation, and if you happen to be a Cholesterol feline, as some of us are, you can have your hamburger in a bun. They also do them with cheese, but we decided to leave those for the humans .”
It was then that Bastet decided to pay a visit to a McDonalds in the old kingdom and try it herself. She found they were good, but no way would she allow them to replace the mice in the corn chambers. You cannot have corn chambers with hamburgers instead of mice.
Bastet decided to cut a deal. She had a word with the feline that owned Mr. McDonald and it was decided that admittance would no longer be allowed for felines in a McDonalds Restaurant. However, as a token of agreement, it was decided that all tabby cats would be allowed to bear the McDonalds “M” on their forehead. This was a success and Mr. McDonald was please with the extra advertising. In return in the feline 9th life world there were advertisements for Bastet’s Kingdom “Come and get your 10th life and a free mouse for every tabby feline with the MacDonalds “M” on their forehead.
To this day we tabby felines carry with pride the McDonalds “M” on the forehead.”
“Are you sure Tabby, I thought it was just a fluke of nature.”
“Mrs. Human, we felines do not do flukes, we are the real thing. I think it is the humans that are flukes of nature, although I wouldn’t mind an opposable thumb now and again.”
