Daily Feline Prompt: The Feline South

“You look deep in thought Tabby.”

“Mrs. Human, what’s South?”

“It is a direction.”

“What’s a direction?”

“Yes, well, it’s the route you take to go somewhere.”

“That is a typical himan explanation. At the moment I am sitting and contemplating whether to return to the warmth of my cushion, or perhaps embark on a journey into the uknown.”

“Tabby, you always find your way home, although I had to search for you once. I remember once when you disppeared all day. You left in the morning and in the afternoon I decided to see where you were. Mr. Human and I were worried.”

“I don’t remember, perhaps I went South.”

“Sort of, I walked towards the West at first and then turned South. It was then I saw you in a hedge. I though you saw me as well, but you disappeared again. You were in the grounds of a villa.”

“I don’t remember, I was probably extending my horizon and collecting experiences on life’s paths.”

“I don’t know what you were thinking, but I was worried.”

“What’s worried? No, forget it, human is such a complicated language with many unnecessary words. Did I return.”

“Of course you did, otherwise you would not be here now.”

“So I was in South. I see. Is this South place interesting. Are there birds and mice there?”

“South is eveywhere Tabby, Even if you are in the North you can go South.”

“Typical human logic. I thought I was sitting in the garden, thinking of the meaning of life. Arnold Paws Black cat said “For me feline life is continuously being hungry. The meaning of life is not simply to exist, to survive, but to move ahead, to go up, to achieve and to conquer and digest birds and mice.”, but he didn’t say anything about going South to do it.”

“Forget it Tabby.”

“No, definitely not, I now have something to meditate whilst I sleep. Point my sleeping cushion towards South Mrs. Human, it might help.”

“But your cushion is round and ….. forget it Tabby, just have a meditative sleep.”
