Daily Feline Prompt: Feline Bricks

This is one of my favourite photos, where I became one with the bricks. They accepted me as one of them, and we had fun together. Of course, it did not happen at once. I remember I was staring at one of my favourite brick walls, I was melting into the surroudings, you could say. I then felt a twinge in my whiskers they were being pulled in a certain direction of course, towards the wall.

This often happens when staring at bricks. You must always be prepared for an exchange of experiences. The wall could not move closer, so I moved towards it stretching out my paw in a friendly gesture. I noticed at once that the wall decided to embrace my social efforts of friendliness and we got on like bricks  on fire, to coin the half human expression. It was then that the bricks on the ground grew restless. This often happens if we felines spend too much time wall watching. They feel left out, neglected, they also want a piece of the fun.

I decided to spread the joy and spent a few relaxing moments on the bricks. What a feeling to roll on your back. My fur was electrified connecting with bricks. It was the peak of enjoyment and I could feel the satisfaction emanating from the ground. Now the wall was becoming jealous watching my escapades, but what could I do. I could not roll on a wall. I said my goodbyes to the bricks and returned to the wall. I placed a paw on the wall bricks to soothe their feelings and it reciprocated by allowing me to spend half an hour watching it. Afterwards I had a feeling of having gone somewhere and experienced a beneficial regneration in my body. The secret of wall watching remains with the felines and definitely lays in the bricks. Do not ask a feline what it sees, or what it feels. Accept this mystery of diffusion between a feline and bricks. There are many things between the eternal corn chambers and a whisker that cannot be explained.

“Tabby, I didn’t understand a word of that.”

“Of course not Mrs. Human, but then humans do not watch or feel with bricks, they just put them together with their opposable thumbs.”

  1. Dear Tabby, thank you so much for sharing this personal experience. Do you know if this is what other felines feel when they do something similar? And how about when one chases one’s tail – is that a philosophical moment too?
