Daily Feline Prompt: Feline Autonomy

“Tabby, what’s happened, are you still breathing?”

“Of course I am breathing. I am taking a well deserved sleep, so do not disturb.”

“I thought you could give me some ideas about feline autonomy.”

“And for that you wake me up? I have more important things to do, like sleeping, than talk about something that we felines do not need to talk about. There is no discussion, it is I, me and myself. We felines invented it.  It is the state of the feline nation there is no discussion. If you have nothing better to do than disturb my autonomous sleeping session with such stupid questions then you can think about my evening meal.”

“But you have just eaten something.”

“Yes, it was something, but I am still trying to define what it actually was. It was hard and brown, could it be the famous vitamin pellets?”

“They do not harm you Tabby, they are healthy.”

“So much for the feline autonomous state of affairs. We command and the humans do what they want to do. I think I will go back to sleep. By the way  let the grass grow longer. The short stalks tend to disturb my delicate fur when I am relaxing.”

“Of course Tabby, how long would you like it?”

“Perhaps Paw length for a for a soft cushioning effect. And now I must relax and gather my energy to make plans for your further deeds for my benefit. In the words of the famous feline writer Ernest paws Hemingwhisker “I love sleep. My life has the tendency to fall apart when I’m awake.”

  2. Dear Tabby, The big news here in Canine Heaven is that we all got tuna fish last night. It’s been a long time so we really enjoyed it, especially my little sister, Bear. But I can say Mindy wasn’t miserable about it and did her little Mindy dance which is about the ONLY fast motion anyone sees out of her. I think she might be part feline because she conserves energy very well. Your friend forever, Dusty T. Dog

At last you are getting somewhere with your human training – keep going, they are slow on the uptake, but they get there eventually, just needs a lot of understanding and patience. Just a small correction Dusty, we invented the energy conservation and I am glad that Mindy is getting the message. Just remember to keep one ear alert at all times to ensure you do not miss anything.
