Daily Feline Prompt: The Sincere Feline

“Open the window Mrs. Human and no, I will not say “please” because it does not exist in meow. iI sounds stupid and when addressing the lower classes of the animal world, such as humans, it is superfluous. I give the orders and you obey.”

“Yes Tabby, of course, I see you are in your usual admirable mood. Could you not try for just a day to be co-operative, and positive and use the cat flap automatically.”

“Using the cat flap is not so easy. It means I have to position myself to place my magnet at a correct angle to enable the flap to open automatically.”

“But if you know that, why not do it?”

“Because I have a sincere, loving, faithful human slave that has been educated to attend to my wishes. Imagine the energy I must apply to sit in front of the cat flap and move my collar to achieve the magnetic reaction enabling the flap to open. It saves energy and time if you do it for me. As Confucious Paws Cat said “To practice five things under all circumstances constitutes perfect virtue; these five are gravity, generosity of soul, sincerity, earnestness, and kindness”, which is one of the first things that we teach our human slaves. Note that sincerity is one of the items mentioned, the rest you can forget for the time being. I might revert on the other things when the time calls for it. And be careful where you tread Mrs. Human, I have just deposited a few lotus flowers from my paws. Now open the window.”

“Of course Tabby, to your command. How could ignore the words of the great Confucious Paws Cat altbough I thought Confucious was a human Chinese philosopher.”

“A feline Chinese Philosopher, the other one is just a copy.”

  1. Dear Tabby, When I want out, my human takes me to the back yard and closes the gate. I have to wait until she wants me to come back to enter the house. This is because my little sister, Bear, discovered she could dive through the lilac hedge. Our lives used to be a lot more comfortable before she learned that. Be glad you don’t have an annoying and precocious younger sister. Yours forever, Dusty T. Dog

Now that is one of the freedom aspects of a feline life. I do not get “let out” I do it all on my own via cat flap. If my human slave is not around and I feel the desire to go, just a push with the nose does it. Returning is a little more complicated. I usually sit in front of the window waiting for service, which is very irregular. It is then that I am forced to manage the opening of the flap on my own, having to apply my super intelligence, which is no bit problem, just annoying having to apply energy to go with it. I am me now, no assistants, and so Mrs. Human has enough time to devote herself to me (at least she should).
Have a good one and perhaps smuggle a paw swipe in now and again when the sister is around to keep her in her place – just a piece of feline life advice. Tabby T. Cat
