Daily Feline Prompt: Second Feline thoughts

“I thought you wanted to go out Tabby?”

“I changed my mind Mrs. Human, and decided to do something more worthwhile like sleeping.”

“But sleeping is not doing anything. The famous human poet William Blake said “Think in the morning. Act in the noon. Eat in the evening. Sleep in the night”.”

“And the more famous feline dedicated leader  Dalai Paws purred “Sleep is the best meditation” so he overtook William Blake on the way. Whilst your William Blake was thinking, acting and eating, Dalai Paws was already sleeping. We felines are always a thought ahead. And I am not sleeping, but meditating.”

“You mean your are solving the prolems of the feline world whilst sleeping.”

“We have no problems, Mrs Human. We have it all sorted. Bastet is the boss and will always be the boss. We do not need elections or choices, we are happy with what we have.”

“But Bastet existed in the olden days. She is no longer here to decide.”

“Feline time measurement is different to human time, you cannot compare. We have lives and you have years. Bastet prolonged her first life, because she could and always has a protecting paw over us. One day I will reach a tenth life, in the meanwhile I am meditating about the paw friendly tin opener and opposable thumbs.”

“And have you reached any results?”

“Of course not. If I solve the problems, I will no longer have anything to meditate about and sleep would become boring. We felines love our problems, we need them, we do not solve them. After my sleep I will eat, might take a walk an then will search for a new place to sleep. When I sleep again I continue my meditation. If I had invented the paw friendly tin opener and the development of opposable thumbs whilst meditating, I would no longer have anything to meditate about. It is logical Mrs. Human and stop shaking your head. Humans are not as logical as felines, they will never understand our advanced thinking processes, it is all a matter of intelligence.”

“Of course Tabby. Shall I open a tin of tuna fish for your meal, just asking. As I happen to have opposable thumbs.”

“No problem Mrs. Human, one of the reasons why you are employed as a human slave.”

  1. Dear Tabby, I find myself meditating more as I get older, but I don’t think I’ll ever be as meditative as my sister, Mindy. Yours forever and ever, Dusty T. Dog

P.S. My little sister and I have been busy chasing two squirrels who taunt us constantly in the back yard. Maybe I’m not meditating. Maybe I’m tired. What do you think?

I do not meditate when my territorial rights depend on it, there is nothing to meditate. Whether another feline, or food for a change to my diat, action is called for. I can always meditate afterwards about the results and what to do the next time to improve my attack method. Sometimes actions speak louder than meditations.
