Daily Feline Prompt: The chaotic feline

Tabby

“Tabby, sleeping again. Don’t you have something better to do, you are sleeping away your life.”

“Lives, Mrs. Human, lives. I have 9 of them and so have time to sleep. In the words of the great Ernest Pawingway “I love sleep. My life has the tendency to fall apart when I’m awake”. And I am only resting my eyes Mrs. Human.”

“What about tidying up the chaos you leave behind before you sleep.”

“Chaos does not exist in meow. We felines are not chaotic, just misunderstood.”

“But your healthy vitamin pellets are all over the floor next to your bowl.”

“Of course, I was looking for something.”

“And did you find it.”

“No, I thought the tuna fish would be under the pellets, but there was no tuna fish.”

“I do not mix food Tabby.”

“That is quite right, just leave the healthy hard vitamin pellets and fill the bowl with tuna fish.”

“What about the chaos on the floor from your toys. There is a rubber ball in the corner that I almost fell over, not to mention the toy mouse filled with catnip.”

“That is not a rubber ball, it is a living thing. It moves when I push it with my nose and rolls on the floor. It is alive and is very useful for gymnastic exercises. Leave my mouse alone. It is not a toy. It animates me to dream of other places and climb inaccessible peaks of light. Hands away from my Garfield poster Mrs. Human.”

“But it is torn at the edges from your claws and not longer looks so nice.”

“Leave my Garfield alone, he gives me the strength and belief to continue through this boring fourth life I lead.”

“What happened to the other three lives.”

“Mrs. Human you really do not want to know, but I still have six left, so let me make the most of them. If my Garfield poster really disturbs you, then you can order a new one for me: perhaps framed to protect it and signed personally by Garfield. And now I have better things to do. If you are lost for something to do Mrs. Human, you can empty my recycling tray, fill up my food bowl, replace my water with something fresher and remove the fur from my sleepng places. You know we sleep where the lotus flowers grow, and they cannot grow if there is fur in the way.”

  1. Dear Tabby, I didn’t quite understand this “Garfield” of whom you write so I asked my human. She said he is a cartoon, not a real cat. Then I was confused over the words “real” and “cartoon.” I decided at that point to just go outside and bark at Joan, the neighbor’s dog, and see if I could entice the squirrel down to some lower branches. Your life is sometimes far too complicated for a simple dog to understand. Yours forever and ever, Dusty T. Dog

Garfield exists of course. Humans have no idea what goes on in the advanced cells of a feline brain. Your human is obviously still in the primitive development state, as my human also is. Garfield lives, he talks to me, and gives me advice. He is known all over the world, which is more than you can say for Mrs. Human. My life is interwoven with many aspects of transcendential motivations. And now I must remind Mrs. Human to clear away the lotus blossoms, they are laying all over the carpet.
May the bark be with you – Tabby T. Cat
