Daily Feline Prompt: The Unenthusiastic Feline

Tabby

“Sleeping again Tabby?”

“I was until you distrubed me with your voice. I am not rolled up with my paw over my face for health reasons, this is the first meow of sleep therapy. I was just sinking into a pleasant place between tuna fish and feline nirvana, and now your voice has destroyed the essence of sleep for me, the surrounding essence of ambiance has been destroyed.”

“But Tabby, you sleep all day. You should really get some exercise and fresh air.”

“Do I look like I need your advice? I am quite happy in my state of transcendential meowtation. Exercise and fresh air would dampen my feline balalnce.”

“What about a bowl of tuna fish.”

“No interest.”

“Are you ill Tabby?”

“I am perfectly healthy. My only problem is a sleep distrubance known as Mrs. Human. Why should I be ill.”

“Because you are always interested in tuna fish.”

“There is a time to eat and a time to sleep and it is now time to sleep. One of our great leaders, Queen Meow said  “I know of no single formula for successful sleep. But over the years I have observed that some attributes of sleep are universal and are often about finding ways of encouraging people to combine their efforts, their talents, their insights, their enthusiasm and their inspiration to sleep” which is one of the pillars of my life’s pilosophy. I am now in a process of encouraging my sleep, I am becoming very enthusiastic about it. The only problem I have is human disturbance.”

“In that case I will leave you to your sleep. I really did not want to be a disturbance.”

“On the other paw, what was that you said about tuna fish? I might just manage to spend some wakeful moments with my food bowl. No point in wasting an open tin of tuna fish. It tastes better when fresh and tends to dry out quickly if left uneaten. I am sure you would agree Mrs. Human.”

“Yes of course Tabby, there is a time to sleep and a time to eat tuna fish I suppose.”

“Now they are great words Mrs. Human, I will register it in my paw notes of wise sayings.”
