Daily Feline Prompt: Feline Chuckle

Tabby

“Tabby, you are sleeping your life away.”

“Which one, Mrs. Human, I have nine, or had nine altogether. I think there are now 5 of them left. And there is nothing to stay awake for at the moment. It is snowing outside, the builders have removed my freedom of movement outside, by putting iron bars in front of the window. Life is not exactly full of chuckles at the moment, although physically I would not be able to chuckle.”

“But you should really be more active. Sleeping is not so good.”

“I find sleeping very good Mrs. Human. It gives me time to think about things. In the words of the great feline poet William Paws Blake “Think in the morning. Act in the noon. Eat in the evening. Sleep in the night”.”

“Yes Tabby, but you sleep all day and have no time for the other actions.”

“Of course I do. It is all multi tasking. When I sleep I am thinking, acting and planning on what to eat when I am awake. It is all a question of organisation. So now stop disturbing my sleep, I had just got the the part  about the eating. I was walking across a field and tuna fish were darting around my feet. Now and again I would trap one in my claws and eat it.”

“But this evening it is the delicious vitamin pellets.”

“Yes, well every feline has its meowmares now and again.”

  1. Dear Tabby, I’m sorry about the construction and the way it is holding you back from adventure. I know what that’s like. We went on a walk yesterday and there were no other people or canines there, so I had a good time. I get very stressed when I see other canines and my human has me leashed. I know that I must protect her against everything. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you, if it isn’t, you can come here. No one is doing construction. Yours forever and ever, Dusty T. Dog

Yes we both have our problems. I was actually thinking about leashing my human to keep her under control, but I have to let her go now and again to buy my food at the supermarket. My human has to protect me, although I am quite good with my claws if necessary. I now look upon this construction as a sort of giant feline exercise installation. I hear they will be putting ladders on it and I cannot wait to try them out. Perhaps I can sleep on the roof afterwards, like Cat on a hot tin roof, metaphorically speaking of course.

  2. Well hello, Tabby. I too sleep all day and eat all night. My masters love me much and provide good fishes to eat. Recently I have been exploring the outside world on a harness and leash. I love it, maybe I should have been a dog.
    Sweet dreams to you. Mel

    • Meow, you must be a beginner. My first walks were on a leash, but do not worry, just show them where your want to bo and what you want to do and they will eventually recognise your superiority and let you do it on your own. Do not forget, cats first, always. You have masters? – No. 1 rule in the feline houshold – you are the master, they are just extras.
