Daily Feline Prompt: Pursuing Feline

Tabby 10.05 (1)

“Tabby what are you pursuing?”

“Where is my grass, it is no longer nice and springy and the lotus flowers no longer grow where my paws walk. What has happened, someone stole the grass.”

“No Tabby, the workmen have covered it up to protect it, because they will be working on this side of our home tomorrow and they want to be sure that nothing gets harmed.”

“But they did not ask for my permission.”

“They did not ask me either, Tabby. They just informed me, but it is better that they take care.”

“That is a matter of opinion. How do you expect me to lay my beautiful body on plastic. Would you sleep on plastic Mrs. Human? Of course not.”

“But there are plenty of other places to sleep Tabby.”

“There were. They have also taken my chair away from the porch. I used to have 6 chairs to choose from, then they reduced to two, and now there is only one and Mr. Human is sitting on it.”

“We had to remove all the furniture to give them space to do their work.”

“You mean I can only sit at the window and hope that they go away.”

“Not quite Tabby. They said we should keep the windows closed when they are working.”

“Who are these humans that are suddenly dictating over my living space? They are worse than vets. I only see the vet once a year, but these workmen species are here all the time. And I do not like the noise they make with their machines, it makes my whiskers quiver.”

“Sometimes things happen that we do not agree with Tabby, but afterwards you will have your lawn again and they will go away with their machines.”

“This is very inconvenient, although I think if I scratch enough with my claws I could tear the plastic enough to make a place for me to rest my tired and weary body.”

“No Tabby, that is not allowed, but you have so many other places where you can sleep.”

“That is not the point. I want my grass, my life is not complete without my grass. It is my territory. The workmen are planning to take it over. Is my tuna fish supply safe, or will they be eating it?”

“They are not here to eat tuna fish but to work.”

“Then I suppose I will just have to put up with it. I think it would be a good idea if you would perhaps put up a sign next to where the my lawn is “Tabby Territory” just to show them who is the boss.”

“Yes, of course Tabby, I am sure they will be careful with your country.”
