Daily Feline Prompt: Feline gate

Tabby

Gates are for humans, not for cats
We felines overcome them, we crawl through the slats
Humans need keys or they have to knock
Felines squeeze through, we do not need a lock
If the gate is too high, we take a running jump
We go over the top if we are not too plump
I once knew a feline that had some very bad luck
She ate too much and then she got stuck
There is a moral to my tale, although it has not yet been found
You might have opposable thumbs, but felines are very sound
Who needs thumbs when you have a super brain
Humans cannot jump over a gate, they would need a crane.

  1. Dusty Writes about Gates

There’s a gate in our yard
    It’s usually closed
    But once a day,
    We poke out our nose.
    We go for a walk
On the streets of the town
    If there are other dogs
    I bark them down
    It’s a big adventure
    We have every day
    If the gate weren’t there
    I think we’d still stay
    With our human
    Who daily
    Gives us food, water
    and a brush
    And says, “You’re
    the best dogs ever,
    I love you so much.”

Yours forever and ever, Dusty T. Dog

      I never go to town
      It is not my thing
I am King of my territory
      Here I can sing
      Mrs. Human is my slave
I am her meaning to live
      I take everything
      And she will constantly give
      I tell myself daily
      I am perfect and great
      Mrs. Human agrees,
      It is her human fate
      She brings me everything,
      although not a bird
But knows that cats are first,
      second and third
