Daily Feline Prompt: Feline Egg?

Tabby

You expect me to talk about eggs. Of course, the old question of what came first, the chicken, in my case bird, or the egg is an eternal ponderable. We felines do not eat eggs, disgusting objects, but left to their own device they are an good source of nutrition. If there were no eggs, there would be no birds, so the question that the lower class human race has been pondering for many years is obvious. The egg came first, the mother bird sits on the egg and the egg hatches. The result is a little bird that spends its time in a nest with an open beak ready to devour the worm of the day.

How do I know this? I have spent hours sudying the development of a bird. Some might even fall out of the nest and I am always ready and waiting. A fallen bird has no hope of survival so I might be in the right place at the right time and help it on its way. It is all in the name of evolution.

If the bird survives ┬áthe egg ┬ástage it will grow and develop and play a part in life’s cycle. It will eventually lay its own eggs and produce more birds. It is an ideal situation for a feline as we have a permanent supply of food. Who cares if the egg or the bird comes first. As long as there are birds, it makes no difference.

As the famous feline writer Paws Christen Anderson said “Being born in a human garden does not matter, if only you are hatched where felines live”, or did I get that one wrong.
