Feline RDP Sunday: Feline Pickle

Tabby

Life can be confusing
although we felines sort it out
If it wasn’t for the humans
that tend to cause some doubt
In the evening I am fed
With tuna in a sauce
And so I wait at lunch time
which is natural of course
But then I get nothing
Mrs. Human says eat your pellets
I think she misunderstands me
or is she just a zealot
Eating tuna once a day
Is not enough for me
I really must make it clear
It’s for breakfast, dinner and tea
And so I wait and give a stare
to impress my vital needs
It really is not difficult
To supply the suitable feeds
Even if I show my teeth,
It fails to make an impression
I give up, and eat the pellets
And hope for a new tuna session
I really so not want to fuss
and do not want to bickle
Does she realise it is cruelty to cats
To put me in a pickle.

Feline RDP Saturday: Feline Kite

Tabby

“And what do you want to write today Tabby?”

“Mrs. Human, forget it. What am I supposed to write about a kite. I do not have opposable thumbs, so there is no possibility that I will ever fly a kite. As far the bird is concerned, I have a a strong suspicion that if I ever met one it would grip me with its claws and fly off to the nest and I would be breakfast, dinner and tea for the baby kites for a week.”

“Then you will not be writing today Tabby.”

“No Mrs. Human, I will remain where I am on the porch enjoying the warmth of the stones and wait until you prepare my food and forget the kites. In the meanwhile I will have a sleep, just wake me when it is time to eat.”

Feline RDP Friday: Feline Spring

Tabby

The seasons are changing
I feel it in my paws
Time to go hunting
I need something in my jaws
The birds and bees
they are humming
Mice are tasty
their tiny feet running
Oh what a lovely time
of the year
Meat to eat,
I have no fear
If it breathes
and is not still
I know what to do,
move in for the kill
I love the spring
with the smells in the air
Fresh meat and a choice
on the menu to share

Feline RDP Wednesday: Feline Thief

Roschti

Typical, never trust a feline and I should know. That is Roschti, and he owns the family next door. I organise Mrs. Human to make sure that I always have a bowl of fresh water outside to quench my thirst. What do I see, Roschti drinking my water. Typical no respect for my property. Even the birds decide to take a drink now and again. If it was not for my generosity they would all be starving around here. On the other paw whilst Roschti is busy drinking my water I could take a walk to his territory and see if there is anything up for grabs.

Feline RDP Tuesday: Feline Haze

Tabby

Haze is not a word that exists in meow
We felines are so clever and always know how
When humans were eating bananas and siting in the trees
We were farming mice and catching birds with ease
Always be one paw ahead was what my mum said
Always be awake and keep a clear head
Haze if for humans thank goodness they have  cats
We keep them well organised , we are the artistocrats.

Feline RDP Monday: Jet propelled Feline

Tabby 17.02 (2)

Someone called “food”
And I am on my way
No time to lose
I really must not stray
I tuned up my tail
To balance in my flight
My whiskers are vibrating
They are a true delight
My nose is following the scent
To lead me to my goal
Everyone clear the path
leading to my tuna fish bowl
And now I have landed
One paw at a time
My jet propulsion works
What a wonderful rhyme

Tabby

“Tabby, look at the state of your blanket where you sleep on the chair.”

“Looks OK to me Mrs. Human. Has a very good decoration.”

“That is not a decoration that is traces of your fur and not very nice.”

“Smells good, so what is the problem?”

“The problem is that you are always sleeping on this blanket and I should brush the fur traces away. What will people think if they see it.”

Tabby

“But no-one sees it when I am laying on it. It is a very comfortable blanket to rest on, smells good and is nice and warm. And they will probably think that a home is not a home without its own personal feline.”

“No Tabby, I will have to wash it, or at least brush away the fur.”

“Wash it? But then it removes my aura, my patina, my natural scent.”

“Exactly, that is the idea.”

“Doesn’t come into the question. I will guard my personal resting place with my last fur ball scent.”

“OK Tabby, but at least let me clean it with a brush.”

“Are you insinuating that my fur is not clean. It is part of me with all its scents and mixtures. What are you doing Mrs. Human? Leave my blanket to me and stop pulling it away.”

“When you grip it with your claws and sit on it I cannot remove it. There is only one way.  I will brush the fur remains away and spray it with a scent.”

“OK, I give up.”

“Where are you going?”

“If you insist I will have to find another resting place. If you need me I will be sleeping on your bed covers. Not as comfortable as my  blanket, but they will do.”

“Tabby!”

Feline RDP Tracery: Feline Tracery

Tabby

Who needs tracings
When I have such wonderful teeth
I have a top row
and also many beneath
They are not for decoration
but gnashing and bite
Not only on the left
but also on the right
They are my trade mark
and enhance my great smile
It is all I, me and myself
with a very unique style
So let us munch away
and tear meat in a bit
I am a super feline
Now that you must admit
I never clean my teeth
they are always bright and shine
Each one is genuine
And they are all mine

Feline RDP Friday: Feline Book

Tabby

I do not need a book,
I can look outside
There are things creeping in the garden
Very carefully eyed
Why should I read about it,
I prefer the action
Books are full of words,
outside I have satisfaction
On page one there is a worm,
followed by the slugs
Some insects fly with wings
and there are so many bugs
I can take a walk in my book
and paw amongst the grass
turning leaves for the next page
No need for magnifying glass
I never need a book mark
To find the part I saw
I see in the dark better than light
I really do not need more
